Real estate industry is India’s one of the most growing and dynamic sectors. This sector has managed to get attention of many aspiring youths because of the high growth shown by it in last decade. Real estate business has several intrinsic elements like development, appraising and selling of buildings. India’s rising economy and increasing purchasing power coupled with de-regularization of real estate sector has helped in huge growth of this industry.

 

Increasing housing needs of Indians have resulted in a common sight of many real estate brokers and agents. This sector provides huge employment growth to the aspirants. One can make career in any area of this industry like, real estate appraising, residential brokerage, commercial brokerage, property management, real estate counseling, industrial and office brokerage, land development, urban planning, and real estate research.

 

In order to get a good job in this field, candidate should have good academic background along with professional diploma or degree in real estate field and good interpersonal and communication skills.

 

There are several real estate job opportunities in numerous private as well as government firms. One can join in his or her area of interest and specialization like, merchandising and financing residential, appraising, developing, industrial and commercial real estate. Other related services include, landscaping, electrical installations and plumbing. Many insurance companies, consulting firms, commercial banks, saving associations, property management firms, mortgage bankers, real estate developers and residential and industrial brokerage offices also offer job opportunities in real estate development.

 


National School of Drama

One of the foremost theatre training institutions in India, National School of Drama (NSD) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. NSD was established in 1959. It’s one of a kind in India and has gained critical acclaim all across the world. Credited to produce many famous talents, NSD has two performing wings:

1) Theatre-in-Education Company, totally dedicated to educate children and perform children plays in the country and abroad.

2) The NSD Repertory Company, the more famous of the two and famed for professional and experimental theatre in the country and abroad.

 

National School of Drama offers a three year course leading to post graduate diploma in Dramatic Arts. Under this course, students have several specialization options including acting, direction, and stagecraft. The Diploma in Dramatics course from NSD is considered equal to any Post-Graduate Degree and passing students are qualified for joining as teachers in colleges and universities. They can also apply for registration to several Ph.D. programs.

 

Though, only 20 candidates are admitted to National School of Drama every year out of which 4 seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates. Definitely competition is very tough. Eligibility criteria for admission are;

Must be a Graduate. Good knowledge of both Hindi and English language. On creative side, he or she must have been an active participation in at least 6 plays or in any other theatre related activity and lastly the applicants’ age must be between 18 to 30 years.

 

Students are selected on basis of screening which involves two steps. The first stage is of an audition or practical test of the candidates at the institute’s four centers in Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai whereas in 2nd stage students have to undergo a 3-5 day workshop on the campus of NSD, New Delhi. The final selection decision is based on potential and performance displayed by the candidates in the workshop.

Architecture Courses

The architectural field is one of the most creative career fields which provide ample opportunities for creative persons to express themselves. In fact, architecture is considered as a form of art and craft.  Architecture is all about creating layouts of buildings. These layouts include, creating designs for all sort of buildings including, monuments, housing societies, commercial complexes, townships etc. architecture courses offer a wide scope to budding professionals in addition of money and respect.

 

Eligibility for the architectural courses is successful completion of 10+2 in science stream with a minimum of 50 %. Candidates are required to get through entrance level exams like AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Apart from AIEEE, National Institute of Advanced Studies and Architecture also conducts National Aptitude Test. Obviously, this is an undergraduate course of five years duration and involves theoretical as well as practical training. Major part of last year of the course requires internship, where students are needed to work under some architect. This gives them an exposure to the real world as well as valuable inputs from the architect about the way industry works. Students can opt for their desired specialization from plethora of choices which include, interior designing, landscape designing, naval architecture, township planning, and construction management. Generally, placements are quite good and passing students can join diverse fields such as National Institutes of Urban Affairs, Department of the Railways or Town and Country Planning Organization etc. 

Acting Courses

Acting courses are quite popular amongst the youths because of the fact that, it provides not only popularity and a glamorous career but big money and fame as well. With the advent of satellite channels and thousands of new channels, acting offers a great employment opportunity to the seekers. Business houses have also entered into movies and TV serials production and they are in constant hunt of choosing new talents for their upcoming ventures. Movies, television dramas and serials offer wonderful opportunities to newcomers. Another crucial point is the high one gets from being watched by million of viewers all across India. No wonder, numerous youngsters dream of joining silver screen and idiot box by joining these acting courses.

 

Various acting courses include full time or part time courses. Course duration ranges from 3 months Diploma and Certificate courses to 3-4 years long film training courses. Apart from these, various summer workshops are also conducted for the children and adults in most of the metropolitans. Having Hindi and English languages as teaching methods are also a big advantage.

BA.LLB is Bachelor of Laws. It’s a five year integrated program in Law. Students can appear for BA.LLB entrance examination after completing their 10+2 education. A lawyer tends to get plenty of career opportunities. A degree in law not only opens several avenues for budding lawyers but at the same time it also gives them a great opportunity to stand against numerous types of social and financial injustice and inequalities. Law is one of the most basic and essential institution of society. To maintain balance and equality in society, law always has to stand in favor of right, no matter what sort of odds, they are up against!

 

A lawyer must have great communication skills along with perseverance and analytical skills. The profession often requires staging skills as well. To get into BA.LLB program candidate has to go through entrance test and personal interview. Entrance test basically checks the students’ abilities in several areas including Legal reasoning, Logical reasoning, English, Maths, and General Knowledge.
